Be a part of the longest, largest, and oldest bike ride in the world! RAGBRAI is a mecca for cyclists all over the world. Of course, you love cycling! But if you also like music, pork chops, homemade pie and ice cream, you can’t miss the RAGBRAI experience!

Prior to the ride, the RAGBRAI Expo hosts a plethora of vendors for bike enthusiasts. You won’t want to miss this Iowa event, which is accompanied by other music and entertainment!

Those who wish to participate in RAGBRAI tradition will begin the first day by dipping their back tires in the Missouri river on the western side of Iowa, at the official dip site. Then, upon reaching the Mississippi in the east, riders can again dip their front tires to complete the ceremonial tradition.

As thousands of riders make their way across Iowa, the hosting towns provide amazing food, including world’s best pork chops, homemade pies, and ice cream. And the entertainment is fun and often unique. Events from recent years include toilet tossing, human Foosball, midget wrestling, and water slides.

Interested? Well, Padre’s Cycle Inn is at your service! We strive to make your experience hassle-free. We offer tent and hospitality services, as well as optional round-trip motor coach service out of St. Louis, MO to the start town and from the end town.

We'll work with Northern Exposure for showers when we're unable to be at a location where real plumbing is not on site. Our goal is to have showers within a block of every campsite or closer.

Camping & Charter Service With
Padre’s Cycle Inn

RAGBRAI Is Hard Enough — Camping Doesn’t Have to Be

RAGBRAI is unforgettable — the miles, the people, the towns, and the energy across Iowa. But the logistics? The heat, the crowds, the daily setup, the long walks with gear?

That’s where Padre’s Cycle Inn comes in.

We provide a comfortable, well-organized camping experience designed specifically for the realities of RAGBRAI. From the moment you arrive until the final ride day, our team handles the details that make a long week on the bike noticeably easier — so you can focus on riding, relaxing, and enjoying the experience.

What the RAGBRAI Experience Is Like with Padre’s Camping & Support Team

After a long day of riding, you roll into town knowing you have a place to land.

Our camp opens quickly and becomes a welcoming, comfortable base as guests roll in. You’ll find shade, chairs, snacks, cold drinks, bike racks, and a  charging station available while the rest of camp is completed.

Once camp setup is complete, you’ll arrive at your tent with your bags already there, dry and protected — no searching for or lugging bags around.

Our large tents give you room to move, change comfortably, and organize your gear — a small luxury that makes a big difference over the course of the week. You’ll also have access to fresh porta-potties and a dedicated hand-wash station reserved exclusively for Padre’s guests.

By keeping our camp intentionally small and well-staffed, the experience feels more personal — familiar faces, friendly conversations, and a sense of community that grows stronger as the week goes on.

Simple, Stress-Free Mornings at RAGBRAI

Mornings on RAGBRAI don’t have to be rushed.

All you do is pack up your bags and set them outside your tent. That’s it.

Our crew takes it from there — breaking down your tent, loading your gear, and transporting everything to the next town. There’s no carrying bags across camp, no tent teardown, and no scrambling to get on the road.

Each morning, you’ll also have access to unlimited hot coffee, cold water, ice, and sports drinks like Gatorade in camp, making it easy to top off bottles and get ready for the ride.

That means more time to relax, enjoy a snack, drink coffee, and ease into your day — while others in general camping are packing, hauling, and hurrying to get their bags to the truck before departing.

RAGBRAI Camp Amenities Ready When You Arrive

Camp amenities — including shade, chairs, snacks, cold drinks, charging stations, and bike racks — are typically available within about 30 minutes of when we arrive at camp, which is typically by 12:00 pm.

Tents and luggage setup takes additional time and is usually completed by 4:00 pm, often earlier. Once camp setup is complete, you’ll arrive at your tent with your bags already inside, dry and protected.

Early Items Bins for Easy RAGBRAI Arrivals

Some things matter right away after a long RAGBRAI day.

That’s why we offer Early Items Bins. Guests can pack a small bag, like a string bag, with shower items, clean clothes, or other essentials — and place it in one of our designated bins before the ride.

As soon as we arrive at camp, you can grab your Early Items bag immediately, without waiting for your main luggage to be unloaded. It’s a simple system that makes it easy to shower, change, or relax as soon as you get into town.

Our in-camp concierge is always available to help you locate food trucks, entertainment, and nearby showers, and we also post shower locations on a map displayed on our trailer, so you can quickly see where to go and plan your evening. We also provide you with fresh shower towels each day.

Why Riders Choose Padre’s for RAGBRAI Camping & Charter Services

Riders choose Padre’s Cycle Inn because we understand what makes — or breaks — a RAGBRAI week.

  • Intentionally small, exceptionally supported
We limit our RAGBRAI camp to around 150 guests and bring a large support crew of roughly 20 people, allowing our owners and crew to provide attentive service and create an environment where our guests connect and friendships form throughout the week.

  • Effortless mornings, every day
Pack your bags, set them outside your tent, and enjoy a calm, unrushed start while our crew handles the rest.

  • Room to actually move in your tent
Our large six-person tents provide space to stand up, change comfortably, and organize your gear. If you’re 6′ tall or under, you can fully stand inside the tent.

  • Comfort as soon as you arrive
Shade, seating, unlimited snacks and cold drinks, charging stations, and bike racks are available shortly after camp opens.

  • Cleaner, private restrooms at camp
Fresh porta-potties and a dedicated hand-wash station are provided at every campsite, reserved exclusively for Padre’s guests.

  • Details that make the week easier
Early Items Bins, charging stations, bike support, hydration, and in-camp concierge support are all part of the experience.

  • A community, not just a campsite
Many riders return year after year because Padre’s feels like a reliable home base during an otherwise hectic week.
