About 17 miles east of Sedalia, you’ll find Clifton City, a quiet trail-side stop surrounded by nature, including wooded canopies, a refreshing ride through scenic tree tunnels. It’s a great place to refuel at today’s SAG stop.
At mile marker 215, you’ll reach Pilot Grove, a quaint town known for its railroad roots and friendly atmosphere. A grove of trees visible on the rolling prairie for miles around gave the town its name. You’ll see the city park, where we’ll have lunch set up for you at one of the pavilions.
After a 37-mile ride from Sedalia, you’ll reach Boonville, one of the most charming and historic towns along the Katy Trail. Boonville is nestled along the Missouri River and offers plenty of attractions to explore, including Boonville’s Katy Depot, One of the most picturesque depot buildings along the trail. You’ll also have a stunning view of the Missouri River Bridge as you ride into Boonville. Historic Downtown Boonville is filled with antique shops, museums, and local dining. Cap off your day with a stroll or ride along the Boonville Historic Walking Tour. We’ll dine and stay overnight at the iconic Hotel Frederick, right on the Katy Trail.
